SSIS ETL Developer

FT/PT:  Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

The ETL Developer is responsible for the development and implementation of technical solutions. This role leverages technical expertise in database applications, ETL processes, and automation in support of internal and external customers data exchange and integration needs.  First Midwest Bank is in the early stages of building a significant data warehouse.  Office is Joliet based with some flexibility to work from home.  This role has frequent interface with business leaders to discern data requirements.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

    Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering required 
    Over 5 years of experience in developing ETL and Business Intelligence Solutions using SSIS, SSRS, and expertise in designing and implementing Relational Database models per business needs
    Must have experience in Database Development, Design, Analysis, SQL Servers 2015-2019 in Development, Testing and Production Environments with various business domains
    Experienced in ETL data from excel, flat file. C and C# used for scripting in Script Tasking in SSIS to control the flow of SSIS package
    Very good working experience of T-SQL. Proficiency in complex stored procedures, User Defined Functions (UDF), Database Triggers, using tools like SQL Profiler and Database Tuning Advisor (DTA)
    Implemented incremental load for many SSIS packages. Experience in error handling, debugging, error logging for production support in SSIS. Experience in bulk importing CSV, XML and Flat files data using Bulk Copy Program (BCP)
    Hands on experience in performance tuning and query optimization including updating statistics, rebuilding and re-organizing indexes
    Experienced in normalizing and de-normalizing the tables and maintaining referential integrity by using triggers, primary and foreign keys
    Ability to work independently and be able to collaborate and guide other team members
    Strong written and oral communication skills required. Experience in presenting new design and solutions to senior leadership
    Working knowledge of SSMS 2012- 2019
    Working knowledge Power BI, and R Services preferred
    Working knowledge of cloud based data architectures leveraging PAAS, IAAS, DAAS etc..
    Familiarity with DQM, MDM, Big Data concepts, Azure DevOps Server, and Visual Studio.

       Position may require the need to travel to other branch or meeting locations in Chicago land.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Design, develop, and enhance ETL and BI Solutions using the Microsoft SSIS and SQL Server Relational Database technologies
    Participate and deliver on new data warehouse project and be the main ETL support member after the go-live
    Monitor production jobs, maintain, and enhance legacy ETL processes on a regular basis. Improve slow running jobs with the help of redesign and better ETL processes to meet business needs
    Work very closely with the existing DBA to design, model, develop, and maintain existing and new SQL databases objects required for all business solutions
    Take directions, follow recommendations provided by data architecture, Info Security and data governance organization
    Confer with relevant business and IT team members where necessary. Study systems flow, data usage, and work processes
    Deliver functional work product that has been thoroughly tested
    Follow development team’s SDLC process. Accurately estimate time required to complete projects and tasks
    Meet mutually agreed upon deadlines for completion of modules throughout the program development
    Works well independently; capable of self-motivating and managing
