Direct Sales Banker I

FT/PT:  Full-Time

Responsible for handling of telephone and web loan inquiries / leads generating high quality loan applications and processing them to completion.  Identifies client’s financial needs by offering appropriate products and services while completing the loan application.  Through outbound calling, actively follows up on all existing open leads.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to multi-task. Must meet or exceed monthly loan goals, Conversion (lead to application) rates and referral goals.   This person needs to be a high achiever, self-motivated, high sense of self-worth, high energy/intensity, and results oriented and persuasive. 


  • College degree or commensurate experience in retail banking and/or sales required.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal/organizational skills necessary.
  • Experience in an inbound and outbound call center preferred.
  • Prior experience in routinely making decisions required.
  • Proven lending experience preferred.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
  • Proficient in MS Office (working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets).
  • Position requires the need to work varied hours/days including occasional overtime as business dictates.  May need to travel to other branch locations

  • Interact with the consumer market to achieve new customers and expand relationships with existing customers.
  • Sell, open and maintain all retail products and services of FMB and cross sell other FMB services to both new and existing clients.
  • Ensure all incoming telephone inquiries received and outbound sales calls made are performed with the highest degree of courtesy, respect, professionalism and accuracy.
  • Complete deposit and loan application inquiries over the phone, prepare documentation and process applications within appropriate procedures.
  • Achieve department and personal goals as determined by the Sales Management staff.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all bank products and services including pricing, bank policies and government regulations.
  • Provide professional quality service and react appropriately to solve customer problems to ensure that resolutions and follow-ups are completed in a timely and accurate manner. 
  • Make referrals to appropriate specialist including commercial, small business, investments, mortgage and trust.
