Lead Rotational Development Program

FT/PT:  Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Rotational Development Program participants will be part of a 24-month development program that will cycle through various targeted functional rotations.  The program is designed to help prepare and develop future organizational leaders through accelerated training and rotational assignments that will ensure participant exposure to multiple departments within the line of business through a cross-functional approach.  Participants will be introduced to the company’s products, services and processes that will foster the skills and knowledge needed in preparation for a successful career in their respective track, while simultaneously making valuable contributions to the organization.  Potential placement after successful completion of the program includes a variety of professional roles in the analytical, sales, and client services areas.  

The Rotational Development Program includes the following tracks:

•    Commercial Banking - offers an opportunity to take part in a structured credit training program, where participants develop an understanding of credit products, lending practices, financial analysis, and the banking industry.  Participants of this track also participate in complementary rotations which may include sales/servicing roles within Commercial Banking, Treasury Management, and Credit Administration.  

•    Wealth Management - offers an opportunity to rotate through core functions of the wealth management business unit, where participants gain experience in investment strategies.  Participants of this track will participate in complementary rotations which may include sales/servicing roles within Private Banking, Trust Sales/Operations and First Midwest Financial Network.  

While training, the participants will report to the Rotational Development Program Manager. While in each of their rotations, the participants will have a Rotation Manager.
 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

1.    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline which coincides with the line of business
2.    Successful completion of at least two accounting courses with grades of B or better
3.    Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 out of 4.0 
4.    Ability to demonstrate initiative and think creatively about business challenges
5.    Self-starter with involvement in extra-curricular, community or university sponsored organizations.  Prior internship experience strongly preferred.
6.    Strong desire to learn and proven ability to adapt in new situations
7.    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
8.    Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
9.    Driven and motivated with demonstrated teamwork and leadership ability
10.    Strong interest in the banking industry and desire to grow and develop a career at First Midwest Bank
11.    Geographically mobile, ready for assignments in 3-4 different locations during the program
12.    Proficient with MS Office
13.    Permanent US work authorization required
 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Typical program experiences may include but are not limited to: 

•    Mentoring activities to provide guidance in navigating daily responsibilities and First Midwest Bank culture
•    Learning and development opportunities, including technical training within your assigned line of business and professional development courses 
•    Community service team building events

Specific responsibilities will be determined and depend on the needs of the department and the line of business specialization. However, rotation experiences may include:
•    Demonstrate proficiency in all areas of credit analysis; able to perform complex credit analysis and prepare clear, complete, written and oral presentations with minimal assistance
•    Prepare monthly production and exception reports
•    Assist with basic portfolio responsibility: maintain and support business with existing clients
