The Copywriter is responsible for creating original, action-oriented and compelling brand content across the following multiple channels and applications: POS, print, email, web, social media, long form editorial, and everything in between. Partner and consult with key product managers and owners, compliance and legal, as well as other marketing team members to ensure that the value proposition of each product and service is presented to the market with copy and messaging that delivers measurable results that elevate the First Midwest brand, drive conversions and ultimately sales.  


    BA/BS degree required
    3 to 7 years of professional copywriting experience (agency experience a plus)
    Proven experience with advertising copywriting, client-facing presentations, campaign management, PR or editorial is important for success 
    Minimum 5 years writing for digital marketing channels.
    Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
    Strong organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines and follow-up in a timely manner
    Ability to craft creative and strategic messaging that emotionally engage target audiences and or demographics
    Ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel, including senior management to ensure strategic alignment
    Excellent persuasive writing skills 
    Must be self-directed with excellent follow through and initiative capabilities
    Focus on client service and client perspectives
    Must be flexible in responding to organizational changes and business priorities
    Must be proficient in AP Style Guide writing formats

    Regularly produce various digital content types, including website product descriptions landing pages, email, social media posts, blogs, and white papers
    Lead SEO best practices in content production while measuring results
    Edit new and existing content produced by other members of the team
    Collaborate with management, other departments, and business units to create innovative, measurable content ideas.
    Utilize competitive marketing research and product intelligence to understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned so that you can maximize the effectiveness of the bank’s product offering.
    Collaborate with product management and line of business marketing communications to develop product positioning and messaging that resonates with our target buyer personas
    Help develop client personas for retail and commercial segments; work with LOB marketing to create targeted marketing messaging. 
    Work with CMO to review and update Marketing owned bank policies for Board approval. Lead implementation via communication of change(s) as appropriate.
    Performs other tasks as assigned.
